| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Achaean colonial mint. The imperial portrait displays the characteristic features of the emperor with layered hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Latin legend identifies the emperor by his full Antonine titulature, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
