Obverse description Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic-Egyptian provincial style typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage. The portrait displays characteristic features of Augustus, with the laurel wreath encircling the head. The Greek legend ΠΑΤΗΡ ΠΑΤΡΙΔΟΣ (Father of the Fatherland) appears in the field to the left of the effigy. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, with the design struck off-center, as is common for hammered provincial issues of this period.
