| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in a naturalistic Augustan portrait style with characteristic short curled hair swept forward over the brow. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field, with the legend C I F AN XLI disposed around the periphery in Latin characters. The portrait displays the mature, idealized features associated with official imperial imagery of the early Principate. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of provincial hammered bronzes of this period. |
