| Obverse description | Bare head of Livia facing right, rendered in the idealised Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of Augustan provincial coinage. The hair is neatly arranged in waves drawn back from the face, with a bun visible at the nape of the neck. The legend ΜΕϹΚΙΝΙΟϹ ϹΤΡΑ appears in the field, citing the local magistrate Mescinios as strategos responsible for the issue. The portrait occupies most of the flan, with minimal border ornament. |
