| Reverse description | A river god reclines to the left in a restful pose, his body supported on one arm while the other hand holds a reed. He leans against an overturned urn from which water flows freely, a conventional iconographic reference to a local watercourse venerated in the civic coinage of Teos. The figure is rendered in a loose, provincial style with soft musculature. The strategos legend ϹΤ ΠΑΝΚΡΑΤΟΥϹ appears in the field, attributing the issue to the magistrate Pankrates. A dotted border frames the reverse design. |
