| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in moderate relief with naturalistic portraiture typical of provincial Trajanic coinage. The effigy shows the emperor with a laurel wreath crown, with drapery visible at the shoulder. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ϹΕΒΑ ΓΕΡΜΑ Δ, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with a dark patina consistent with bronze provincial issues of the early 2nd century AD. |
