| Obverse description | Bare or laureate head of Emperor Tiberius facing right, rendered in the restrained classical style characteristic of early Imperial provincial coinage. The portrait exhibits the strong, idealized features associated with Tiberian numismatic portraiture. The encircling Latin legend naming the duoviri L. Rutilius Plancus runs around the periphery of the flan. The field is flat with natural surface patination consistent with the hammered bronze fabric of this Corinthian colonial issue. |
