Reverse description The reverse field is entirely occupied by a multi-line Greek inscription arranged in horizontal lines across the die, naming the proconsul Publius Vitellius as issuing authority and identifying the coin as a civic issue of the Nicomedians. The legend is distributed both within the field and around the periphery of the coin. The surface shows typical patination and wear consistent with circulation, with some areas of legend weakness due to the irregular flan and die striking. No figurative imagery is present; the reverse is purely epigraphic in character.
