| Obverse description | Laureate head of the Demos personified, depicted facing right in the Greek civic tradition. The effigy is rendered in a naturalistic Hellenistic style typical of Mysian provincial coinage of the Severan period. The legend ΙΕΡΟϹ ΔΗΜΟϹ ('Sacred People') encircles the portrait, identifying the personification of the city's citizen body. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hammered provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor. |
