| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in the characteristic Severan style. The effigy is rendered in profile with drapery visible at the truncation. The Greek legend ΙΟΥ ΔΟΜΝΑ ϹΕΒΑ is disposed around the bust in the field, identifying the empress as Augusta. The flan is irregular and the surfaces carry a dark green patina consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the period. |

| Reverse description | The Lupa Romana depicted standing to the right with head turned back to the left, suckling the twin infants Romulus and Remus who are shown seated beneath her. The scene alludes to the mythological foundation of Rome and reflects Ilium's claim to Trojan-Roman heritage. The ethnic legend ΙΛΙΕΩΝ is inscribed around the type in the field. A dotted border encircles the reverse design, which is set on a plain exergual line. |
