| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and gathered into a bun at the nape in the characteristic Severan style. The empress is depicted with finely rendered drapery at the shoulder. The Greek legend ΙΟΥ ΔΟΜΝΑ ϹΕΒ(Α) runs around the field, identifying the subject as the Augusta. The flan shows the typical irregular edge characteristic of provincial bronze coinage of the period. |
