Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Nero facing left, rendered in the provincial Greek style. The portrait displays characteristic Neronian features with the wreath of laurel encircling the head. A Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field, partially reading ΝΕ ΚΑΙ ΖΕΥϹ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΟϹ, associating the emperor with Zeus Eleutherios, a cult epithet of particular significance at Sicyon. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical wear consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Julio-Claudian period.
