| Obverse description | Bare head of the emperor Nero facing left, rendered in the provincial Greek style with youthful features. The Greek legend ΝΕΡΩΝΑ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΝ runs along the left field, identifying the portrait as that of Nero Augustus. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical wear consistent with circulated provincial bronze coinage of the Julio-Claudian period. |
