Additional information

Miletopolis was a minor Mysian city whose civic coinage under the Antonines was produced in small, irregular quantities — this issue falling in the final year of Marcus Aurelius's sole reign, after the death of Commodus's co-emperorship had not yet begun in earnest. The conventus of Cyzicus administered several such communities whose output was modest enough that surviving specimens often show significant variation in die alignment and flan preparation, products of workshops far removed from the major provincial mints.
