| Obverse description | Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, the hair elaborately coiffed and swept back in the characteristic Antonine fashion. The effigy is rendered in moderate relief typical of provincial Lydian coinage of the mid-second century AD. The circular Greek legend ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the empress as Augusta. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges and dark green-brown patina consistent with hammered provincial bronze coinage. |
