| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, seen from the rear, the portrait rendered in the provincial style typical of Mesopotamian civic coinage. The effigy is enclosed within an olive wreath border that frames the entire design. The Greek legend Α Κ Μ Ο Ϲ ΜΑΚΡΙΝΟϹ, denoting his imperial title and name, is distributed around the field. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat flat, consistent with hammered provincial bronze issues of this period. |
