| Obverse description | Bare or lightly draped bust of Herod Agrippa I facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The effigy is depicted in profile with naturalistic facial features characteristic of Judaean royal coinage of the period. The surrounding Greek legend ΒΑCΙΛΕΩC ΑΓΡΙΠΠΑC (Of King Agrippa) runs along the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits a heavily patinated, irregular flan typical of hammered provincial bronze issues of the early first century CE. |
