(Translation: Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus)
Reverse description The goddess Isis depicted standing, facing the viewer with her head turned to the left, wearing the basileion (a crown consisting of a disc flanked by cow's horns with plumes). She holds ears of corn in her extended right hand and a hawk in her left hand. The reverse legend identifies this issue as belonging to regnal year 11 and the Metelite nome, a regional administrative district of Roman Egypt. The composition reflects the strong syncretism of Egyptian religious imagery characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage under Hadrian.
