| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, draped with paludamentum over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Achaean civic coinage of the early second century AD. The obverse legend ΑΥΤ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΤΙϹΤΗϹ (Emperor Hadrian the Founder) is disposed around the bust in the field. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, characteristic of provincial hammered coinage of this period. |
