| Obverse lettering | ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΤΙϹΤΗϹ |
| Reverse description | Zeus enthroned to the left, depicted as a majestic seated deity in the conventional Hellenistic tradition. In his extended right hand he holds a patera, symbol of divine libation, while his left hand rests upon a tall sceptre. The reverse legend ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟΠ(Ο)ϹΤΡ ΚΑ references the city name Hadrianopolis alongside the civic magistrate or civic era designation ΚΑ. The type echoes the standard Olympian Zeus imagery widespread in the coinage of the Asian conventus under Hadrian. |
