Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, with youthful features rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Lydian civic coinage. The effigy is portrayed with short hair and a smooth, unadorned neck, consistent with the iconography of the Caesar during the reign of Elagabalus. The circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field. The die work is typical of the Thyatiran mint, showing competent but informal engraving.
