Obverse description Bare laureate head of the emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the provincial portrait style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage. The effigy displays characteristic features of Claudian portraiture with a wreath of laurel leaves encircling the head. The circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the obverse field. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for hammered provincial bronzes of this period.
