Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, rendered three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy displays the characteristic short beard and close-cropped hair associated with Caracalla's mature portrait type. The Greek legend ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ runs in the field to the left of the bust. The flan shows the characteristic irregular edge typical of provincial bronze coinage struck in the eastern Roman Empire.
