Obverse description Bare, youthful bust of Marcus Aurelius (lightly bearded) facing right, depicted in the provincial Greek style typical of Mysian civic coinage of the Antonine period. The portrait shows curly hair rendered in low relief, with the truncation of the neck visible at the base. A Greek legend surrounds the effigy, identifying the future emperor by name and title. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze production.
