| Reverse description | Dionysus standing left in full figure, clad in a long chiton and himation, extending his right hand downward to offer a bunch of grapes to a panther crouching at his feet. In his left hand he holds a long thyrsus upright. The composition is characteristic of Dionysiac reverse types employed on Lydian provincial bronzes of the Antonine period. A partially preserved Greek legend appears to the right in the field, reading ] ΠΕΡΙ ΝΕΙ, likely an abbreviated form of the civic magistrate's name or ethnic. |
