| Obverse description | Draped bust of Faustina I (the Elder) facing right, her hair elaborately waved and drawn up to a coil at the crown of the head in the characteristic Antonine court style. The effigy is rendered in moderate relief typical of provincial Lydian bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD. The obverse legend ΦΑΥϹΤΕΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ runs around the periphery in Greek characters, identifying the empress as Augusta. |
