Reverse description Frontal cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus (Ephesia) depicted in the canonical xoanon type, standing erect with arms extended horizontally and the characteristic multi-tiered polos headdress. The figure is adorned with multiple rows of pendants on the chest, flanked by supporting animals in the provincial tradition. A crescent symbol appears to the left of the statue and a star to the right, both common celestial attributes of Artemis. The encircling Greek legend names the local magistrate and the issuing civic community.
