| Reverse description | A stag standing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in a simple but recognizable style consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Lydia. The stag is the civic emblem of Hierocaesarea, closely associated with the cult of Artemis Persica worshipped in that city. The ethnic legend ΙΕΡΟΚΑΙϹΑΡΕΩΝ is distributed around the periphery of the reverse field. The flan is irregular and the die execution is typical of local Lydian workshop production under the Flavian dynasty. |
