| Obverse description | Laureate head of the deified Vespasian facing left, rendered in the provincial Greek style with characteristic broad facial features. The Greek legend ΘΕΟΣ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ (Divine Augustus) encircles the effigy, identifying the emperor in his posthumous divine aspect. A small branch device appears beneath the portrait in the lower field, serving as a mint or die-cutter's mark. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hammered provincial bronzes from this mint and period. |
