| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valerian II facing right, depicted three-quarter view from the rear in the characteristic provincial style of the Ephesian mint. The paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, conveying imperial military authority. A Greek legend encircles the effigy, identifying the Caesar by his abbreviated titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical provincial die work of the mid-third century. |

| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of fortune and civic prosperity, stands facing left in long draped garments. She holds a rudder in her right hand, symbolising guidance and destiny, and a cornucopia in her left arm, representing abundance. The figure is rendered in the competent but unpretentious style typical of Ephesian civic bronzes of the joint reign of Valerian I and Gallienus. The ethnic legend ΕΦΕϹΙΩΝ appears in the field, asserting the civic identity of the issuing authority. |
