| Obverse description | Seated figure of Aphrodite facing right, her right arm raised toward her head in a characteristic pose. The goddess is depicted in classical Hellenistic style, likely draped, occupying the central field. The encircling legend ΑΜΙϹΟΥ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΑϹ, reading 'of free Amisus', runs along the periphery, affirming the civic autonomy of the mint city. The flan is irregular, and the strike is somewhat uneven, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Trajanic period. |
