| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her characteristically elaborate waved coiffure rendered in relief, set within a circular border. The effigy is depicted with a naturalistic portrait style typical of the Severan provincial mint tradition. The Greek legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ surrounds the bust, identifying the empress as Augusta. The flan is irregular and the surface shows a dark olive-green patina consistent with prolonged circulation. |
