| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her characteristic wavy hair elaborately coiffed and swept back in the Severan style, with tresses falling to the nape of the neck. The empress is depicted with naturalistic portraiture typical of provincial Carian bronzes of the early third century AD. The Greek legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤ runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on the irregular edge. |
