Blaundus, a minor Lydian city of Macedonian foundation, issued coins under Nero early in his reign — before the emperor's public image had soured enough to prompt the kind of posthumous damnatio that erased his name from monuments elsewhere in the empire. Provincial bronzes from Lydian mints of this period were authorized locally, with the city bearing the cost of production as a form of political loyalty signaling to Rome. The RPC I 3059 attribution places this firmly within a well-documented but sparsely surviving group; BMC 63 specimens show consistent fabric suggesting a single short emission.
