| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Diadumenian facing right, rendered in frontal perspective, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The portrait displays the youthful features characteristic of Diadumenian's iconography on provincial coinage. A dotted border frames the flan, and the encircling Greek legend is partially visible around the periphery, though worn. The coin exhibits the irregular flan and bold, hand-struck relief typical of Mesopotamian provincial bronze issues of the early third century AD. |
