| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The Greek legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan. |
