Reverse description Three military standards displayed upright side by side, each staff adorned with multiple phalerae and topped by a wreath, standing on a low base line. The central standard is taller and more elaborate, flanked by two slightly shorter standards of similar design. Greek letters appear in the lower field between and beside the standard shafts. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ runs along the lower exergual area, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea in Bithynia.
