| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed from a rear three-quarter perspective, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Troad mint, with a dotted border encircling the flan. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the field, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. |
