Reverse description A griffin seated to the right occupies the central field, its eagle head and raised wings clearly delineated in the Alexandrian provincial style. A spoked wheel is positioned beneath or beside the creature, a device frequently associated with Nemesis in the iconographic repertoire of Roman Egypt. The reverse field is largely uninscribed, with the design filling the flan and exhibiting the characteristic irregular fabric of hammered Alexandrian bronze coinage.
