Obverse description Laureate, youthful bust of Commodus, lightly bearded, facing right, with naturalistic portraiture typical of early provincial coinage of his reign. The legend, partially legible, encircles the effigy in Greek characters. The flan is irregular and the die work is characteristic of a small provincial mint, with moderate relief. The portrait presents the emperor with short curling hair beneath the laurel wreath.

Reverse description A male figure, likely the emperor, depicted on horseback galloping to the left, rendered in a vigorous provincial style with bold but somewhat coarse die engraving. The rider is shown in military posture atop the horse, with the animal's legs extended in full gallop. The ethnic legend of Pagae is inscribed in the field, partially legible. The overall composition is characteristic of equestrian reverse types common to Greek Imperial bronze coinage of the Antonine period.
