| Obverse description | Bare-headed, lightly bearded, laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Achaean civic coinage. The effigy displays the characteristic portraiture of Commodus with short curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling legend, partially legible due to wear, identifies the emperor by his full titulature including the names Marcus Aurelius Commodus Antoninus. The overall fabric and style are consistent with late 2nd-century Peloponnesian provincial bronze issues. |
