Reverse description A tripod occupies the central field, depicted in a simple schematic style characteristic of provincial civic bronze coinage. The tripod, a sacred cult object associated with Apollo, stands with three legs visible and a flat top surface. The civic ethnic legend ΜΥΡΙΝΑΙΩΝ (of the Myrinians) surrounds the type in the field, attributing the issue to the city of Myrina in Aeolis. The flan is irregularly struck with areas of flat relief and surface encrustations.
