Reverse description Frontal cult statue of Artemis Leukophryene, the tutelary goddess of Magnesia ad Maeandrum, depicted in the characteristic rigid xoanon pose with arms extended horizontally and supported by two lateral props or supports, rendered in the archaic hieratic tradition associated with her celebrated sanctuary. The ethnic legend ΜΑΓΝΗΤΩΝ is inscribed vertically along the left field. The reverse type directly references the famous temple of Artemis Leukophryene, one of the most important sanctuaries of Ionia.
