| Obverse description | Jugate draped busts of Augustus, laureate, and Livia, bare-headed, facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition characteristic of Ionian civic coinage of the Augustan period. The effigies are presented in close proximity, with Augustus depicted in the foreground bearing a laurel wreath, and Livia partially visible behind him. The flan is irregular and the die work reflects provincial hammered technique, with the portrait occupying the majority of the obverse field. |

| Reverse description | A stag standing to the right in the central field, rendered in the stylized manner typical of Ephesian civic coinage in reference to the goddess Artemis, the principal deity of the city. Above the stag, a quiver is depicted, further alluding to Artemisian iconography. The encircling Greek legend names the grammateus (city secretary) Aristion, son of Menophantos, responsible for the issue, arranged in multiple lines around and above the type, consistent with the eponymous magistrate formula used on Ephesian bronze coinage of this period. |
