Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the classicizing portrait style characteristic of early imperial provincial coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's naturalistic features without laurel wreath or diadem, consistent with the Roman convention of depicting Augustus capite nudo in civic contexts. The legend ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ arcs around the portrait in the field. The flan is slightly irregular, and the die work reflects provincial engraving of the Phrygian conventus.
