| Obverse description | Laureate head of Antoninus Pius facing right, depicted with characteristic beard and aged features in the style of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The imperial effigy is rendered in low relief, with the laurel wreath clearly indicated. A Greek legend surrounds the portrait, running along the border of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The coin shows the typical irregular fabric of Alexandrian bronze issues of the mid-second century AD. |
