Reverse description A frontal female cult statue, identified as Artemis or a local equivalent deity, standing facing with lateral supports or pillars on either side, flanked by two lions positioned at her feet or flanks — a composition closely related to the Anatolian mother-goddess iconographic tradition. The arrangement reflects the xoanon-type cult image venerated at Philadelphia. The civic legend ΦΛΑΒΙΩΝ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΕΩΝ arcs around the reverse field, attributing the issue to the Flavian city of Philadelphia.
