Reverse description Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted standing facing with head turned to the left. His weight rests slightly to one side as his left arm supports a tall serpent-entwined staff (the caduceus of Asclepius), while his right hand rests upon his hip. The figure is rendered in the draped style typical of Hellenistic divine imagery. The ethnic legend ΦΙΝΑΙΟϹ appears in the field, identifying the issuing community of Phoinike or the Phoinikian district within the Epirote koinon associated with Nicopolis.
