| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Septimius Severus facing right, the emperor portrayed with his characteristic forked beard and short curly hair beneath the laurel wreath. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The die work is typical of the Pergamene civic mint, rendered in a provincial style befitting the local coinage tradition of the Severan period. |
