| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Ionian mint at Clazomenae. The portrait displays the characteristic short beard and hair of Severus, with a laurel wreath encircling the head. A Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular striking. The surface retains an olive-green patina with areas of earthen encrustation consistent with prolonged burial. |
